A dear and cherished friend, who came briefly into my life before having to move on, once said to me “You just don’t understand.  It’s who you are and what you bring to this world that matters, not what you do.”
I have never forgotten his words.  They are with me always - sometimes as a gentle reminder whispering in my ear and sometimes as a whacking thud needed to shake up the repeated pattern of returning to an outmoded way of thinking.  In any form, it is one of the great gifts I have been given. A mantra; a prayer, that has radically shifted the way I walk in the world.
